Le Cordonnier is a luxurious villa with absolutely breath taking views located in the Var region of Provence. Here, you’ve found the ideal place for your family or friends to gather together, to enjoy life in France!
Step inside this newly built villa and find high ceilings with exposed timbers, white walls and huge windows that open out onto a gorgeous balcony. Walk down the wide corridor and into the large, family sized kitchen, boasting modern Siemens appliances, and everything you’ll need for cooking up fresh Provencal cuisine. The kitchen opens onto a covered terrace for shaded lunches and dinners.
Behind the terrace sits the snug/library, which has a TV/DVD player as well as a plentiful collection of books. Behind the snug is a WC and a laundry-room complete with washing machine and tumble-drier. Adjoining the snug are two double-bedrooms, with super king-size beds, a shared bathroom with shower and a separate WC. One of the rooms has a balcony which connects it to the front terrace.
On the first floor is the luxurious master bedroom, which faces south and commands superb vistas. The room has an en-suite. Across the corridor is the final bedroom, which is a decent size but has height restrictions. This room is suitable for a couple or 4 children, as the superking bed can be opened up into two singles, and there is a double sofabed. The room also has an en-suite shower and WC.
The villa is very baby/family friendly. There are two high chairs and a cot, plus lots of toys, puzzles and books to entertain the children. There is an extensive DVD collection too. In the basement, there is a table-tennis table, a darts board and yoga mats, if anyone needs to escape the midday sun.
Outside, the villa has a balcony which runs along the front of the house. The 12m x 5m swimming pool is found on the south-side of the house, running east-west. There is plenty of wooden-decking around the pool. The owners have installed gates and fencing around the decking area for child safety. In a shaded area behind the house, there is a boules court so you can compete with the locals in the village later on! Next to the boules court is a gas BBQ. The garden is the owners’ passion and has been recently planted, using locally sourced plants.
This villa is only a few minutes’ walk from the centre of the village of Claviers. Here you’ll find several excellent restaurants, as well a shop and a bar perfect for sitting outside, watching village life and enjoying an aperitif.
Local attractions include the gorgeous vineyards towards Le Muy, Les Gorges du Verdon/Lac de Sainte Croix and the many beautiful hill-top villages synonymous with the area. Further afield you’ll find opportunities to go cycling, hiking, or play golf. If you love the beach, the coast and St Tropez is 1hr 15 mins drive away.

We were 3 couples with 6 children, and everyone loved it!
We put all the children together in the same room, they felt like being in a holiday camp.
The house was big enough not to feel crowded, even though we spent most of the time by the pool (which was a bit cold for us adults, but not at all for the children!) I must admit we loved it so much it was a bit hard to find motivation to go outside the property… But in the end we enjoyed a lot the region as well. We will definitely be back!
We were 2 couples with 2 children each, and the house was big enough for everyone to enjoy its own space! Everything was nice. The pool was just the good temperature to refresh us, and we spent quite long time sunbathing on the chairs, with one the numerous books of the library. We found everything we needed to cook in the kitchen even though in the end we mainly used the barbecue. Each room is charming, but the parental suite view is astonishing! Also, with so many people it was perfect to have several bathrooms, no wasted time in the morning before heading to our excursions. But our favorite feature in this house was definitely the sound system. With an iPad, you can control music all over the house, in each room, you can put a different music (or no music at all) if you want, or you can just put the same music everywhere (including the pool terrasse!). We had so much fun with this, music was bringing good mood everyday.
The surroundings are really beautiful, starting from the small villages Claviers, Bargemon and Callas. We found a lot of good restaurants there (book dinner at La Campana in Bargemon, you won’t be disappointed). The Gorges of Verdon were truly one of the highlights of our holidays, it’s so amazing to see what Nature has to offer. We also went to St Tropez, but in the end it was too crowded, and made us even more realize that renting this house was the perfect choice to discover the region far from the other busy tourists.
